What Can You Expect

How do I work?

Every client completes a detailed questionnaire (Click Here to Download). Completion of this ensures my advice is both safe and appropriate. Regrettably, consultations are unable to go ahead unless this questionnaire has been completed. Once a thorough case history has been taken which dates back to childhood and includes family history, previous illnesses, potential stressors, medication taken, symptoms experienced, an analysis of energy levels, toxic load, food diary and likes and dislikes, I will then explain what potentially may be going on in the body to produce the symptoms being experienced.

Finally, we will agree together some simple, stress-free, sustainable changes to your food choices and lifestyle. I may recommend professional supplements and/or functional testing.

How does my service differ from the average nutritionist practicing today?

I am able to directly access the latest nutrition research and use this to guide my recommendations. Your plan is personalised and not an off the shelf prepared protocol. It may not directly follow traditional diet options. This is because this may not suit you. If supplements are suggested, then each ingredient is cross referenced to your medical condition and any prescribed/self-administered drugs or supplements you are taking. This is a vital stage and without it, recommendations may be unsafe.

The completion of my questionnaire may highlight various symptoms which would benefit from your GP’s review. I do not provide primary care and therefore it is essential for your GP to review certain things.

I may refer you back to your GP for various tests or I may also suggest the use of functional testing from various industry validated laboratories. Many of these tests are not readily available on the NHS and provide more thorough analysis.

The nutrition Industry is completely unregulated, how do you know you will be in safe hands?

I studied for an online diploma in nutrition comparable to the majority of nutritionist practising today. However, having undertaken hundreds of hours of research myself I realised how woefully insufficient these qualifications are. Following 5 years of intense training I graduated from the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition. The guiding principles of my training are personalised advice based on published scientific evidence.  I am a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and a Registered Nutritionist through membership of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and CNHC. Entry into these associations is highly selective and subject to rigorous entry requirements and membership is commonly regarded as a quality stamp.

What if you would benefit from advice beyond my expertise?

Having worked in the Health and Wellness industry for the last 7 years, I have been very fortunate to build relationships with exceptional people in their field. As such I have built up a network of professionals, I can refer you on to. Sometimes, clients benefit from a multidisciplinary approach to achieve optimum results.

Finally, we will agree together some simple, stress-free, sustainable changes to your food choices and lifestyle. I may recommend professional supplements and/or functional testing.
